Common questions
How do I add another child?
Tap the picture at the top of the first screen to open the profiles, then add a new profile. Each child keeps their own progress and settings.
How do I change the colours, letters or text size?
Tap your picture, then Settings. Choose Night, Cream or Pastel colours; Standard, Lexend or OpenDyslexic letters; Regular or Large words; and Normal or Wide spacing. The settings belong to that child's profile.
How do I hear questions read aloud?
Turn on Read aloud in Settings. A speaker button appears on each question, and holding an answer for half a second reads it out without choosing it. If you hear nothing, check the volume. The feedback after an answer follows the silent switch; the speaker button does not.
What is check practice?
A rehearsal of the Year 4 multiplication tables check. It is the last option on the times tables setup screen and is off until you turn it on. It asks 25 questions with 6 seconds each and typed answers, then lists the facts worth practising. There is no pass mark. Normal rounds are never timed.
Why did my child's wrong answer still count when they got it right the second time?
The second go is there to learn from, so the card is still marked as missed and comes back later in the round. The results screen does say how many were fixed on the second go.
How do I reset a child's progress?
The app has no reset button yet. You can start afresh by creating a new profile for them, or delete and reinstall the app, which removes every profile.
The app used to be called FlashTimes. Is it the same app?
Yes. It is the same app with a new name. Updating keeps every child's profile and progress.
What data does the app collect?
None. Everything stays on the device. See the privacy policy.
